Last.fm keeps telling me to listen to Grieves. This gives me reason not to.

I like this. there's a couple of really clever songs, but it doesn't BUMP
|
| |
lets put quotation marks around the genre some artists belong to
|
| |
"this is better than all the other crap "rap" fans jerk off to on here."
yeah man cuz its so poetic and deep
Anyway, I'm liking this more than I did originally. While some songs were just trying way too hard to pander to the Rhymesayers audience, there are a number of songs that show more potential like in 80 Keys. Oh and he should stop trying to sing whole songs forever and ever. He's decent for a short hook but he's not half as good as he thinks he is.
anyway the last song is probably one of my favorites.
|
| |
lol what do you mean ignorant and shallow
tell me what makes rap ignorant?
also i listened to a few of this albums tracks on youtube they blewwwwww
|
| |
"Oh and he should stop trying to sing whole songs forever and ever. "
thissohard
|
| |
"I'll take that over ignorant and shallow any day."
There isn't anything inherently wrong "deep" hip-hop or "ignant" hip-hop (even though what makes them each of these things really is more subjective) but a lot of this tries so hard to be poetic and it's just kind of sad.

I don't really love him in general, I do love some of his songs and I like his 2011 material in general even if it was kinda inconsistent.
but regardless that's a really dumb post, I'm sorry.

I mean I know that post was just meant to mess w/ me or something but I don't get it. Like, when I
defend artists I like that you happen to dislike, I try to use as many points and evidence to back up
my appeal as possible and you're just like, "oh mY gOD I can't beleeeeeve you like something thats
totally not deep like that!!!111! dumbest users EVER!!!" and your main criticism is always with the
eloquence or perceived "intelligence" of the lyrics and it just baffles me.

No but this is a rapper I've been getting into recently

that song + Mind of a Maniac are great.
|
| |
a lot of Lil Boosie's stuff is dumb like Bad Azz is such a bad album and I hate it but he has some gems and he can rap well relatively technically and "lyrically". But I wouldn't say he sucks, my main criticism is he usually has really cheap ass production
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pHjbNzKTdXo
but yea he's prolly going to be in jail for life. The punishment for bein a goon nigga.

aka keepin it real nahmean?
|

andcas you never answered my question i think you probably don't have a good answer because your opinions are contrived and pretentious
|
| |
"someone who speaks on nothing but bitches, money, cars, drugs, and hood life"
idk what's wrong about rapping about these subject matters or why people think they're inherently bad. Subject matter doesn't really correlate to quality.
"how truly untalented they are as a rapper but uneducated they are as a person"
do you just mean lack of technicality or what?
and uneducated? lol.
|
| |
I mean I was just saying because it makes sense that you'd enjoy this considering you are THE target Rhymesayers audience cuz you have that, uh...mindset.
|
| |
"well YOU are the target [x mainstream or "ignorant" rapper] audience because YOU like terrible music"
Just getting this reply out of the way.
|
| |
yeah because you focus on poeticism of the lyrics or whatever, when with a lot of trap shit (which is
basically the only genuine modern gangsta rap), it's not about that as much as there are other
objectives but ahhhh I already went into this.
if you want some great music abou dat trap life that's technical just listen to Dipset all day
