Love Supreme is a favorite but honestly when I hear Coltrane I usually feel like he needs to quit hogging all the solo time haha no denying his talent but I need more variety than sax sax sax

yeah Mingus was more of a composer with his arrangements while Coltrane was more of a frontman. Nothing wrong with either, but it's pretty easy to see why someone would prefer one over the other
