I know, but even In Flames has Reroute To Remain, so he isn't infallible.

"I read it even though I said I wasn't going to. "
Ah. Funny how that tends to happen ^.^

"Um, are you retarded? Losing credibility because one letter isn't lowercase? That makes no sense. It just sounds like you're trying to demean my efforts in the laziest way possible."
You're constantly comparing this to old motW. I don't think you've ever heard their old albums. The fact that you think that this album is just a remake of Bath/LYBM interludes just strengthens what I'm saying. It doesn't look like you know this or their other albums enough to compare them.

Well, the wall of text was partially fixed.

"except toby's lyrics are pretty bad"

Didn't actually see the wall. I'm sure it was a sight haha.

lol he thinks its made of bath/body map interludes because it has no heavy sections which makes him mad.
its not as good as Bath or Body but its beautifully composed, brilliantly produced for an underground music album and retains toby's mastery of atmospheric composing beautifully
album is great
review is not

"Also, InAbsentia, that renders your statement completely void."
How so?

Again, I have to ask, are you retarded? I said it was NOTHING like those albums, dumbass! God, did anyone even fucking read the review without bitching about the rating?! I explain exactly how I feel about the fucking album explicitly. If you can't even be bothered to fucking read, then I don't even think it's worth it to argue with you. And, if you say you won't read it for some reason, and read it anyway, why should I fucking care about your comments anyway?

Yeah I've always thought Toby's lyrics were really good personally. "Sleep is a Curse" and "Geography" come to mind.

@Brick
you need to understand that 90 percent of progressive metal bands really cant write good lyrics and maudlin are no exception lol but the lyrics aren't the point at all imo

Geography, definitely. The way he makes the words just seem like they were meant to go together is almost uncanny.

I think a lot of prog metal bands disagree with you there, bro.

No, but they aren't as stupid and pretentious as the ones on this album.

as far as his lyrics the themes are a little ridiculous and a lot of the lyrics in his later work is just......like wtf but hes easily the most diverse and forward thinking composer in modern music

Wow... I don't think you even read your own review. This whole thing is about how you liked the old motW but hate this album.

"are you retarded?"
This is the perfect question for every mature argument. Well done...

"the themes are a little ridiculous"
Yeah I get where you're coming from on that. It really just depends on the person I guess. All that matters is if it resonates somehow. Toby seems to write more abstract lyrics that don't necessarily make sense but create imagery that kind of encapsulates the mood of the song. Some people like that more than others I guess. Or also even if you did like that style of writing, maybe the way Toby does it just doesn't resonate. It's really a pretty personal thing.

@Kubrick thats a great way of putting it. but just simply in terms of songwriting in general, the lyrics are a little ridiculous. But again I will say Toby is an absolutely ridiculously brilliant composer and musician.
