I haven't listened to their first, but from what I read Fools and Worthless Liars is a fairly large departure. Lengthy album but so consistent.

Hmm, I guess I could see that. I think Chevelle and like Red are the best mainstream rock has going for it, true, though when I said mainstream I meant it as a wider umbrella term, not just rock, hence my mentioning Linkin Park, Rise Against, and Fall Out Boy.

I'm not a huge fan of Chevelle's past releases, but they're all 3-4 in my book. Hope that clarifies some, and I see where my bias could have got in the way there.

Any early reviews, even the positive ones, are subject to that kind of criticism, and I won't argue
against anything you've said. It's possible that my view of this album could be different in a week or
even a year. That seems to happen to me with many albums, as it does with other people as well.

Fair point on the band's instrumentals, and I will concede that I have not paid much attention to the
band's instrumental playing in their past work enough to notice a huge difference here. In other
words, you got me. I was negligent. Here's to a better review from me next time.

I'd agree, just based on Highland's Apparition and Prima Donna, that an acoustic album from Pete (or Chevelle in it's entirety I guess) would be awesome.



Flyfromtheinside, if Revenge is "pretty dreadful," how can the album be a 5?

The amount of retardation that is filling this review and most of the posts is unreal. Chevelle obviously isn't boring enough for the regular man. Bands like Nickelback and Breaking Benjamin get all the attention cause they're boring and dull. Much like your average human being.



This album is truly haunting and mesmerizing.

5/5 without breaking a sweat. With the potential to be hard rock album of the year.
