A conceptual album based on Michael Moorcock's 'Warriors on the edge of time' novel, this is where hawkwind took conceptual music into consideration, as one can see on their later album, 'The Chronicle of the Black Sword' (I did a review on it earlier). The concept is brought to life magically via the disturbingly bleak narratives, and the range of different styles of Progressive rock and psychedelia are shown here in spades. It may get a bit monotonous towards the end of the album , slightly losing creativity, but this is still a good example of how far Hawkwind would go to prove themselves as one of the defining experimental rock bands of the 70's.
