im pretty sure i dont like emo, if it fits the stereotype that i have engrained in my head of "oh, lets cut oursleves and whine about what losers we are". but, with all the genre arguements i get on this site, im really not too sure what emo is. i hear you, give me the "hook up" and maybe i will have a better understanding of the genre.

ARGH.....people i want every one to hear this
let the genre go. it dosn't matter. u like a band or you don't like a band. THATS IT. Start talking about the elements in the music and not what the recored companys or reviews lable it. JUST LET IT GO

Well as a start you can go here and here. These are two of the more popular, catchy, intelligent, and least emo bands I can think of that should serve as a good weening.

hotcross was ok, but the circle band failed to interest me. thanks though. anyway, i dont want to edit the review, but i should probably have talked about the songs a little more instead of just stating my opinion on them, although, it is pretty good for being my first review and a t-b-t, IMO.

I nearly got into a fight with the singer at a show with alkaline trio. turns out he doesn't like it when you finger them, hold up your lawrence arms shirt and yell about badly they were sucking.

Lyrically and vocally it's really bad, but they have some decent melodies.
