Is there anywhere to buy the actual cd? Their offering it at 192kbps on their site?? Shitty bit rate if you ask me for 7 euro.

Listened to this twice now. Definitely their best since One Time For All Time imo.

Didn't they make this as a soundtrack to some 70's space film?
They performed it at some film festivals recently, didn't know it was actually coming out as an album.

Checking this out now.

Definitely comes across spacey, could see this almost as background music for Mass Effect. And so far no use of the usual offbeat drum computer. (I'd guess that one isn't existent on this album)

I had no idea they had a new album coming out.
I don't listen to much post rock but I enjoyed their previous record, so I'll give this a try.
Awesome review as ever Eli.

You know, I've been putting this release off for awhile. Having listened to one of their demo's (I forget which one), I was left wondering what happened to my favorite band (keep in mind this was over a month ago). But I checked out the whole album today and this is what I've concluded:
For starters, I do like this album. It has some really amazing pieces, and the whole thing kinda feels like a dream (if you can understand that). 65DOS has definitely refined themselves well. The spacey and electronic moments are really well done. But here's my complaint: it's plain. Yes, this album is insufferably plain. NO, and I mean NO songs stuck out. They lost their thrill, their identity, the spice that kept them so unique and thrilling. And while Silent Running might be a great album to fall asleep to, or even read to, they can't excite me any longer, nor can they impress any real awe.
3.5/5 from me (I'm obviously a fanboy since they deserve lower). I really hope they go back to their The Fall of Math days.

This album would go great with the movie Moon, or any movie like that. But you don't see anyone downloading the soundtrack for Moon. People, if they're interested in ost's, download the soundtracks from movies like Lord of the Rings.

What I like most about this album is that I can read the Space Odyssey series while feeling like I'm really one of the characters. Great reading music, heh.

Perhaps the most boring album I've heard all year. It sounds nice enough, I guess, but nothing grabs my attention

This is okay. Might listen to it more, and see if it grows on me.

This album is the epitome of trying too hard to fit in. If I wanted to listen to an album that made me feel like I was at Donnie Darko's prom I would listen to M83. This is not what I want to hear when I put on 65DOS.
