Over was one of the worst songs on Thank Me Later, though. All it had was some catchiness and good production and that's it. People hate on the album (I did, too) but once you actually listen to it, it's great. Light Up and Thank Me Now are some of the most personal songs I've heard from him, and Shut it Down is just an R&B masterpiece. The only thing I don't like about the album is the amount of filler.
See: Over, Up All Night, Find Your Love, Fancy, Miss Me, Unforgettable
Even though the filler has fantastic production and Miss Me and Unforgettable are just unfairly catchy, so I would even argue those two aren't filler much at all.

Like, catchy to the point where Miss Me is probably one of my most-played songs from the album and I can't help but shout along whenever Young Jeezy spits, "WHEN I SAY FO LIFE YA'LL SAY FO EVA!"

I'm sure Dev hates it because it's not lyrical and he seems to be geared towards lyricism in hip-hop but the rest of the haters are just dumb.
No (but nice observation), I just plain don't like it. He sounds awkward, the beats are miserable and everything has this terrible pop sheen about it

Up All Night and Miss Me used to be my favorites from the album because I thought the album was all about instant catchiness and nothing more, like it was a pop rap record plain and simple, but as I listened to it more the immediate catchiness of Up All Night was lost on me and I got into the personal depth of the other songs and his melodic mastery on the R&B tracks.
and yeah I still don't like anything Rick Ross spits on, though he did an okay job on Lord Knows. Though I'll say that's probably the track Drizzy spits the weakest on, at least in terms of flow. Jus Blaze's production is definitely the song's highlight.

Really? I thought you'd like the production more than anything about this. The beats are just fantastic and focus on atmosphere and subtlety while keeping a catchy appeal. (well on 40's part)
and you guys should check out the bonus tracks "Hate Sleeping Alone" and "The Motto", they're pretty dope and Lil Wayne kills the latter track with his mad swagger. I also downloaded "Dreams Money Can Buy", "Trust Issues" and "Club Paradise" and tacked them at the end of the album as bonus tracks because they were too good not to keep. Dreams Money Can Buy is one of the best songs he's released, especially that genius production with the subtle vinyl crackles and the whispered "don't fuck with me..." chant and the I JUST WANT WOMEN TO CRY AND PULL OUT THEY HEART FOR ME and askdfjsadf it makes me happy.
