the atmosphere is a product of the music, not the other way around
You are a wise man Kyle.

good review, except i dont think i quite agree with your introduction
music can be a product of atmosphere, not just the other way around

Stop writing about all metal on this webpage. Seriously. This review is embarrassing.
Often music is 100% about the atmosphere, go listen to Raison d'être and moan about how there's no song structures you musically deaf neanderthals.

you should contemplate killing yourself

Why, I love music unlike the people that write for this site.

this isn't comparable to raison d'etre
blut aus nord have made lots of good albums but this is just trying too hard to be deathspell
and deathspell suck
|

Oh I haven't even listened to this album, I'm not that big into Blut Aus Nord. I was specifically referring to the comments about atmosphere. All I have is The Work Which Transforms God and it's pretty good. Definitely not even remotely as good as Deathspell though. Deathspell are like a religious experience, fucking incredible band.

Oh wow this guy called me a fag and said "no" in response to god knows what. With detractors like this, who needs a fanbase?

Except I was talking about black metal not dark ambient. And nowhere do I say that not having song structure is a bad thing. Re-read.

I tried to think of any concrete examples within the genre but I came up with a blank.

it's more relevant to drone based stuff
for example, records that use field recordings and things like that
