Hey Zettel, nice to see you around, it's been a while. I will read you later!

Pleasure is mine, monsieur Jehtro. Hope you are doing good and the Progject is still alive and kicking; I kinda leave the site for a while but I am still around, for what is worth, haha. Do you happen to like progressive metal? Not sure if you would like this, who knows. See you later and thanks for stopping by.

the reason why the arrangements were so good in the s/t is because there was friction created by the music, then after the friction there would be something that completely diffused it. In simpler terms, the music hit a peak (climax) and then released.

in this album, there is little to none of that. There is a bunch of meandering and lame 8bit shit.

Nice succint work. I will give the first album precendence over this in listening order then.

@Adash: It is weird too see you commenting in a metal thread. But I know you liked. TesseracT, so probably you are going to like this band.
@Asdemons:

Interesting way to put it, and somewhat I agree with you, The new record might work differently, emphasizing fluidity, but the compositions are great nonetheless.

Ah man, used to be heavily into metal back in the day; I still rank Emperor's last concert as one of the best gigs I've ever been to. Grown out of it somewhat but a bit of tech metal now and again can never hurt

This album is so disappointing.

The hell is everybody on about? This seems immediately way better than the debut.

Hey Zettel buddy, yes ProgJect is still on his way, thanks for asking. Your review was a very good reading as per usual. I like your style, your sense of detail. To answer your question, yes I like prog metal, but more traditional than this, e.g. Dream Theater, Pain of Salvation, Ayreon, Symphony X, Opeth and stuff. I'm not an aficionado and I'm hard to please into that prog subgenre. Coincidence, I'm about to do a list to actually enlarge my prog metal palette.

"This seems immediately way better than the debut"
I wouldn't say immediately, but damn close. Everyone here was expecting something super incredible with cherries on top...when all they got was a perfect follow up to a band with a very unique sound.

I really enjoyed this.

this band will never have a decent drum sound. shit sounds like electronica beats. I'd probably bump it up to a 4 if it sounded good.

I actually liked this album alot more than their self-titled mainly because their transitions into different parts of the song were way better. And @ asdemonsburn I would have to disagree with you when you say these songs have no climax; I find that there is a much better buildup and progression than in the s/t. The problem I had with their s/t was that they used djent-chugging to get through parts of the song a little too much for my taste.
I also love how they have explored electronic music more in this album. A HUGE inspiration.
