The Unplugged In New York is definately one of Nirvana's greatest albums. Kurt's voice is so clear and crisp you can feel the emotion he puts in it. Every song from about a girl to where did you sleep last night is a knock out. I couldn't give this album any lower than 5/5 :thumb:

This is one of the greatest albums I have ever listened to and is the only one that put into my CD player every other day.......I shows that Nirvana had a more compassionate side instead of heavy screams and loud guitars.........It showed the true essance of Nirvana......ONE OF THE GREATEST BANDS EVER!

Krist Novoselic was born Christ, but always used 'Krist' as the way to spell it.

Kurt is called Kurt Cobain, but he liked, in the beginning of his career, when he was 'unknown' to spell it other ways like:

Kurdt Cobain
Kurt Kobain
and even Kurdt Koebane.

good review, just one thing thought, i wouldnt say that 'all apologies' is their biggest hit. i mean common, we all should know that 'smells like teen spirit' is. even if your sick of the song or you just dont like it, it really is their biggest hit. even though they hated it themselves.

This is Nirvana's best. I like pretty much the feeling Kurt puts into each song specially to the cover they did for "The man who sold the world" which is my all time Nirvana's favorite.

Very good review. I think the best is nevermind. Would have Nirvana published this album in case Kurt was alive?

I'm not sure if anyone has said this or not, but "Where did you Sleep Last Night" was not originally a ledbelly song, it was originally a 1950's bluegrass song, though it was called "In the Pines" with one less verse than the ledbelly version.

There's definitley something spooky about listening to this album after Cobain's death, especially with it ending with where did you sleep last night. this is a great album.

This one of the best unpluggeds ever.
My fav song is where did you sleep last night. I love the ending where he starts screaming.

The album's not ok, its great. I'm only arguing because its my favorite album of all times, but that's good enough reason for me. It doesn't matter whether you like 'acoustic' music or not. THERE ARE ONLY TWO "GENRES" OF MUSIC - GOOD MUSIC AND BAD MUSIC ( that is to all the "genre" freaks).

his name is Kurt. i personally think that this CD is not quite the best from Nirvana but it is good, no question. my favorite song on it is Lake of Fire, even though it isn't a nirvana song.

Novoselic was born "Krist", used "Chris" as a teenager in Aberdeen, changed it back to "Krist" for Nirvana, and has kept it ever since.

Cobain's real first name was "Kurt", but spelled it "Kurdt" for some time in his late teens and early 20's.

This album is one of my all time favorites as it has a lot more feeling in it than any of there other albums, and it being in acoustic just made Come As You Are, Pennyroyal Tea and Lake of Fire (cover) sound 10x better as it makes a more gentle sound and in Where Did You Sleep Last Night i love how the ending of the track it's all gentle and then he takes a breath and the strums and lyrics just explode :D . I like how you can hear what he says inbetween each track a little bit, and sometimes jokes. This is basically all the songs he's got on other albums but with a different kind of sound and effect which makes it worth getting. It's great seeing it live aswell because it's so great to see how kurt plays the tunes. You also see the meat puppets playing Lake Of Fire with kurt singing!
Is this the last show/album they recorded before kurts departure? :upset:
