I'm on Dance Miserable right now, and I can totally see what you mean about the Michael Jackson influence - At times he sounds a bit too similar for comfort.
I remember reading that his biggest musical influence was Prince
I can see Prince as well, but MJ seemed more apparent to me. Also, I should likely note that the first three songs are far and away the least enjoyable here.

At least he pulls off the vocal style fairly competently

This is absolutely terrible.

Yeah, I definitely get people not liking this. I mean, this is totally the lamest thing I like from 2011 :P

It's pretty much neck-and-neck. Lulu's coming in hard from the back of the pack though...
|

Lol, Lulu is a steaming pile of shit. This is at least a thousand times better than that turd of an album.

Eh, this was pretty disapointing. One or two good tracks, but overall not worth the time

And what would those be?
love love love that you're reviewing as much as everyone knows you should be. Always a pleasure to read your reviews.
I'm super tempted to check this out. The EP was a little blah but kinda fun.
Thank you, Elijah! Your kind words are always appreciate. Also, if you liked the EP even a little you'd probably enjoy this.

it's moderately disappointing but its still pretty solid imo
he has so much potential with that voice though
this is why i'm not surprised that i like it

I mean if he has some vocal high points and the lyrics aren't asinine as all fuck then I'll probably enjoy it, there was a track or two off his EP that I enjoyed

Fall Out Boy's last album was pretty damn bland as far as my opinion is concerned. This is just pop at its core, but it infuses a lot of other genres to feel new, and as a result is a passable affair. It's just those first three tracks that you have to plow through.
