Very personal review Hans.

Maiden's Live After Death did the same for me...changed my life I guess.

Even if I was disappointed on the first listen I learned to enjoy this album. These guys never made the same record (like 95% of the bands out there) and like it or not Metallica deserve our respect.

AND THE ROAD BECOMES MY BRIDE

Hammett doesn't get enough credit either. Almost every song on this has an iconic guitar solo most professional guitarists can only dream of writing.

^ Truth. The solo in Unforgiven is Godly, the solos in Sad But True, Sandman, and Wherever I may Roam rule hard, and the second solo in Nothing Else Matters is somewhat simple yet soulful and fucking skilled.

^ That album rules so hard. The first Maiden record I got was Killers.

Its really hard to describe how huge this was.

Back then there was no You Tube or mp3s or any of that shit.

You had radio, MTV ,RIP Magazine, Hit Parader magazine, CIRCUS magazine, and METAL EDGE Magazine. And word of mouth from friends, friends making you dubbed tapes, etc.

It was so much more rewarding and so much more fucking METAL than it is now.
