this is definitely one of my fav albums right now. their old stuff is better than this but compared to todays metal this is superb playing.
Jeff Loomis is a monster at rhythm and his leads. and Steve Smyth is no slouch himself.
I LOVE Van Williams style of "bass and ride" drumming..
and Warrel Dane is an unbelievable vocalist.. though not as emotional on this album as he was on previous releases
"sentient 6" is also one of (IMO) the highlights of the album.. course so is every song.. their all just amazing! This Message Edited On 05.16.06

Hmm, I'm really not sure why some of you guys don't think this is one of Nevermore's better releases. I think this is one of, if not, their best. The title track is easily the best song they've ever written, plus all the other songs are fantastic also.

admittedly, i bought this because the packaging looked cool, and the money was burning a hole in my pocket, but im glad i did, it's immense, everything about the vocals and instrumental playing is perfect, technical, melodic, and heavy. the lyrics are a bit over-the-top at times, but nothing a few listens can't deal with. fucking amazing.

I don't get how this is one of their weaker albums, I personally thought everything was an improvement from their past albums. The vocals were done much better. Guitar still wonderful, but sameish... It's pretty much like what they've released before. Excellent album

This definitely isn't a weak album. It's the best thing they've done since Politics...
