Well, I wouldn't say that. There is, however, some black metal bands that are more known than others.

I listened to this album again today and loved it. Queen of Winter, Throned has to be Cradle's most epic song to date.

Hm. Aren't Cradle Of Filth one of the "essential" black metal bands? Why are they labeled as metal then?
I don't like these guys much at all. Haven't heard this album though.

Quite the contrary, actually. They're hated by just about every fan of real black metal.

They did use to be considered real black metal, now they give real black metal a false

name.This Message Edited On 06.16.07

in your review you stated that the major drawback of the album was its short length. well, the album was an ep after all.... and the main reason for the length was- beleive it or not - the album was hastily written and recorded as a contract obligation to the record label after the band's relationship with the label soured..... but despite all of that, it was still a kickass hellof a record...... and nice review......

Best thing CoF ever did IMO. Queen Of Winter, Throned absolutely slays.

i disagree with your comment on how The Forest Whispers my Name isn't as good as the original version because I think that it is far superior to the original. For one the production value is a vast improvment, and the drums really make this version outstanding, I'm mean Nick Barker really outdid himself on this version.

and who cares if there not considered "REAL BLACK METAL" a band has to grow, and get more creative, they can't keep pumping out the same old shit all the time

Probably the band's best release, in my opinion.

This would probably get a classic rating if there was like 3 or 4 more songs on it.

The only thing that i dont like, well i like everything, but one thing i wish they wouldnt have done was rerecord The Forest Whispers My Name. I still like this version, but the original is a lot better IMO. It doesnt take away from the album though. This album also has the best song COF has ever recorded.

This style of Cradle of Filth is long gone. I wouldn't expect them to sound like this ever again.

Yeah, but i can hope lol. Plus Dani got his voice back completely so the vocals might sound more like they did in this era for the new album.
