Boehemian Rocks!

One time the chorus at my school sang Bohemian and they completely messed it up... Mercury would have been turning in his grave...

they also sang a dave matthews song... can't remember which

I don't think it's too much of a stretch to proclaim that Bohemian Rhapsody is the greatest song off all time. By anyone. Ever.

It's a great song, but that's a bit of a stretch.

Excellent album. I'm not sure about greatest male voice of all time, though^. What about that guy who does that song that's like "You raise me up so I can stand on mountains" he's pretty Fucking good.
Ya, the best solos were in the 70s. I get goose bumps when listening to really good solos (Comfotably Numb from Floyd does it everytime). Making a solo isnt about putting a bunch of notes together and playing really fast. Todays solos are meaningless and boring. Its really hard to find a good solo from the 90s and on. (except for the grunge era)
You're kidding right?

^ About what? The best guitar work was in the 70's? I'd agree with that.

I'd have to adress the grunge comment, though. Grunge = intresting, but not good solos.

I disagree a lot with that. Yes, Hendrix and other great musicians were from that era, but there are so many awesome solos today. Almost every band I listen to has amazing solos, not just technically speaking either, they fit really well with the music, and I listen to a rather diverse amount of music.

Grunge has lots of great solos. There are great solos from every era of music.

Anyway, is this a good album for me to start a Queen collection with?

Great album. It has a very eerie sound, yet happy sound at the same time. Either way I'm loving it, especially Death On Two Legs and Seaside Redezvous, beside the obvious of course.

Sometimes I wonder what is going to considered classic music for the next generation? If my (future) kids ever bring home a My Chemical Romance cd and claim its classic rock, I'd probally leave them at a bus stop outside of town.

That's ridiculous. Have you even heard The Rolling Stones '68-'72 material? There are so many bands that get a lot of praise without having any talent. The Stones in the late '60s and early '70s is fantastic. Amazing. The Beatles deserve all the credit they get. They brought rock n' roll back into popularity. They expanded it beyond what anyone thought it could be. Don't pick real good bands that have put out a lot of great songs to be the most overrated. There are plenty of god-awful bands that people think are the best.

people basically call anything popular that they don't like overrated.

The most overrated band is The Rolling Stones or maybe The Beatles.

You quite simply don't know what you're talking about. Much as I love Zeppelin, I'd say Zeppelin is over-rated before I'd say the Beatles are.
