This is an interesting EP. I really like the musicianship and the refined, mature sound they've got going, as well as how well composed their songs are. The reason this is a 3.5 to me though, as opposed to a 4.5, is that I don't feel compelled to come back for a second listen. As well composed as the songs are, nothing really 'hooks' me.

2:31-2:45 in Treetops sounds so much like Scurrilous. That's the only really blatant thing I've noticed though.

Treetops and Aviation are slightly weaker in my opinion but the other four actual songs are so, so good.

treetops is actually one of my favorites in this album, i guess because it was the first song i heard (being the opening track) and it came as a pleasant surprise

Blood Petals
The Sound of Glaciers Moving
Glass Faces
Red Sky Harbor
Treetops
Aviation
Something like that. The first four are basically interchangeable for me though.

yeah Aviation is probably my least favorite track but i love these lyrics in that song
"In this life an endless solo flight
Bow thy head and close thy peasant mind
Now comes the deafening roar
Followed by an eternal calm
Silence! silence, the sound of emptiness"
