somewhat underrated album here. Present Tense kicks so much ass live.

Only die-hard fans can count this as their best.

The first pearl jam i heard, stumbled upon it at the library and thought the cover looked cool, took it home and I've loved it ever since.

Great review

The linear notes and the little photographs are awesome

This is better than Ten

though Ten isn't very good except for 3-4 tracks, so that isn't saying a lot

This record was interesting. It was definitely quite a change from Vitalogy, but it does have some great tracks on it.

This is indeed actually quite good, but I always prefer listening to their first three records above the rest.

I would say this is their most "interesting." They should try to bring some of this originality back to the new material.

I unfortunately got burnt out on Pearl Jam. I didn't like them for a long time, then I started to like them. But I don't know I think I have heard it too much over the years. Yeah, from what I have heard from the newer stuff is that they need to explore and experiment or evolve more. But then again, the last actual full album I bought and listened to was Yield.

yeah never been a big fan or anything, but their last album was one of the most derivative, boring
things i've ever heard. I was hoping it'd be a more low key, stripped down kind of album like Vedder's
soundtrack for Into the Wild, which was pretty cool.

I think he has a lot of potential as a solo artist, and Into the Wild was a real solid start. Will be interesting to see what happens with his solo career in the future.

Off cause it lacks the really BIG songs that would make it a classic. But for my taste this is a very good PJ album. Half the tunes are a bit weak.

Though - as just stated - the big guns arent here, them I really, really like

Sometimes, Red Mosquito, Present Tense, Mankind and Im Open.

Been lurking awhile, but had to make an account just to praise your review. Very well written, and I agree with every word. Great album, and very under appreciated.

those who didn't support pearl jam with the release of no code are losers, because they didn't want the band turning into some experimental project and guess what? i think is better album than yield, SURPRISE!

I cannot understand the low rating on this album.. it's truely a musical master piece, sure some songs aren't that impressive but overall an amazing album, I love the feel this album has.
