I don't get the summary :/
I used to love 'Hard To Beat' but that's the only song I've really heard from them. The singer is atrocious live
Edit: nvm I just read the review, summary is genius

Awesome review as expected. Give It Up really does sound frighteningly like Prmial Scream.
Also is it just me or does Good For Nothing suspiciously resemble Coldplay's Lost?

Album cover wtf.

Never heard of these guys. Not really convinced on this album. Maybe I'll check out that other one everyone is talking about. Good review as always, Davey.

Been listening to this a few time and 2.5 is way too low - it's a great record although I agree with the points you made in the review

saw the album cover and it reminded me of those stupid bouncing heads in Final Fantasy 7

They always seem to put a highlight song as the last track. Also, I don't know why but Fire In The House seems so boyband-ish, makes me think of the "relight my fire" days of Take That.

listened to some of the new songs and they fucking suck
also award to most boring looking band line up goes to

Funny you say that, I thought the last track was easily the worst song. Oh well, can't be too harsh on a fellow 3.5'er ;)

Don't think you're gonna get much company in the positive club unfortunately.

"Damn, what's with all these cool bands from a couple years earlier trying all the synths and electronics..."
I know. They think their female solo artists & it will sell.
Thanks xtoxin.
Thomas, I hope your head has been fixed.
LOL Defjaw. Love how the summary went from "WTF" to "genius". This is my mission with every summary that I write.
Thanks Ali. You still gonna write a review? I actually thought 'Bring It On' sounded more like Primal Scream, but I can definitely hear the influence throughout. By the way (just in case you hate 'Give It Up', my Reco tracks change all the time with this album. There is no real standout, which probably hurts it because there are a few shockers here.

Phideaux, their debut is definitely worth a listen if you enjoy accessible English indie type stuff. It's actually hard to categorize.
mvood, I know you're a pop fan & there is definitely something for pop fans here. Having said that, I hope the band don't expect this album to be their breakout into the mainstream, because it won't. And yes, I occasionally did think of Take That on 3 or 4 songs.
Ahhh bloc, I had $10 on you liking this. ;-) As I said in the review, the last track isn't bad, it is just completely out of place next to everything else here.
Kane, what the hell is a "most boring looking band line up".

Yeah I'm probably still gonna do it, if for no other reason than to balance out all the positive ones I'm doing. I actually thought that Give It Up was probably the best song, but it's still hardly stellar. Did lead to me digging out Screamadelica though so it had some positive effect.
