it's funny how with so many different genres now, reviewers keep coming back to the same premise that albums keep getting released that don't break free of their genre confines and don't deliver something unique or special. be it folk metal, any "core" genre, post-rock or whatever.

also the album art is lol

The Arafel album is pretty awesome!

Good review Styles, might just have to have a look at this anyway.

Cephalic Carnage also had a video where some guy's dick exploded after about 3 minutes of fecal-porn, and while I found that amusing in its own right, I still wouldn't actually recommend the song to many a person.

Seriously having second thoughts about exploring this genre now...

Oh don't worry Irving that was just an example Cephalic Carnage is no folk metal, they're a grindcore band.

I just watched that video, and what the fuck? It was so random, haha.

Also, WolfChant is folk metal that rules. Newbies would probably like them as well.

Decent folk metal=Equilibrium, Sagas. It doesn't deserve the serious bum love it gets but it is ridiculously catchy

Irving you should also try to listen to Tyr. They´re easy to listen to, because they´re singing clean.
