my point is that there's plenty of variables involved and vinyl isn't a guarantee of quality

uhh but that's the case with literally any audio format
so your point is p. redundant :]

Album Rating: 4.5
The review is short because it's just a limited edition USB. There's really no other way to review this unless I reviewed the music on it which would take forever. Besides, that isn't even needed since every album by them has already been reviewed here.
|
| |
exactly, so why even bother reviewing something like this
this isn't a product page, we review music here :]

"If I reviewed the music on it which would take forever."
God, I know reviewing music is a bitch..It would take at least a WHOLE page to describe this, I like your approach better. In fact, I think we should revamp the ratings system.
1- Disk/Cassette/Vinyl fucked up beyond belief/ unusable
2- Artwork is ugly
3. Color Scheme does not stand out.
4. Excellent Packaging, Pristine Condition, FLAC Quality
5. Music put on USB

| |
the fuck is this
|

Sputnik technology
|
| |
Also, FLAC is not the "highest possible quality"
FLAC is a compressed format which happens to be lossless
meaning ideally it should be 100% faithful to whatever it was converted from
vinyl is :]
Pretty much.
What?
the CD and digital audio formats have superior dynamic range over vinyl, not to mention lacking the sound quality problems that come with vinyl deteriorating over time

if by lighting shit up you mean making blanket statements and overusing creepy smilies then yeah its on fire
uhh but that's the case with literally any audio format
yea which is why i don't conclusively say VINYL IS BETTER QUALITY due to so many new records sounding terrible as they were made off low-res digital. as well as the overall analog v digital thing boiling down to personal preference and the equipment you're using
i dunno about the deteoriation part meatplow. i've heard from fairly reliable sources that properly stored vinyl can last 100 years or more while CD's are kinda unreliable in that regard.
|
| |
by best sound quality i mean it has the potential and capacity to be the best, which it does, only someone who is ignorant would say otherwise, which is what i was saying
making a file flac doesn't automatically make it better, it's all about the source material
same with mp3, ogg, etc.
so what you said is the same with every format
hence totally redundant, so shush :]
the CD and digital audio formats have superior dynamic range over vinyl,
really? i could have swore it was the other way around since cd only goes up to 21.5khz and vinyl goes higher than that I'm sure of it, otherwise 44khz vinyl rips wouldn't be possible and I see them all the time
mind you, vinyl rip =/= vinyl so I could be wrong :]
|
| |
by best sound quality i mean it has the potential and capacity to be the best
that is very, very arguable considering lower frequencies can become muddy on vinyl, amongst all
sorts of other technical bullshit
it is plagued with it's own unique set of limitations which make it impossible to claim as the
superior medium. the "potential and capacity" may be there, but it is probably almost never
realized

well, I didn't explicitly state this but i'm pretty sure I already implied it

um there's nothing redundant about pointing out that each format is subject to pros and cons and that you can't definitively say that vinyl is superior. are you retarded? i guess you are :]
i think some of the more negative consequences of digital methods on the sound occur due to over-reliance on manipulating and processing rather than just the recording process itself
|
| |
noctus just because you do this :] after everything doesnt make you less wrong

well sure but no one ever claimed otherwise and since it applies to every audio format it just seems pointless pointing it out to me :]
