Oh, not close. Keith Moon's drumming would embarrass a 1973 Keith Moon. The Who By Numbers even owns this, to say nothing of The Who Sell out. The production on this album is sort of obnoxious. Entwistle's tracks are great though.

yeah, Stankleberry, either your a troll or just have bad taste. Quadrophenia, WHo's Next, and Tommy are widely considered their BEST albums, and with the exception of Who's Next, I have to agree.
There are quite a few tracks on this that are good, in fact I'm starting to like some more now, so I might change my review a bit.

I bought this today.. but I wish I hadn't now ¬¬
I got Who's Next a long time ago and I absolutely love it, so I decided to finally get another album.. bad choice it seems, to have gotten Who Are You.
What album would you recommend after hearing Who's Next?

live at leeds or the kids are alright
if your going to get live at leeds, get the deluxe edition.

I think the album is excellent. One of my favourites since childhood. And, part of the WHO masterwork collection which inclues Tommy, Who's Next, Quadrophenia and Who Are You. Following the very good, yet bare bones recording which was 'By Numbers', the band returns to the vision/direction displayed on 'Who's Next'. In fact, three of the nine selections on 'WAY' were begun back during the 'Who's Next' sessions. So, it has that vibe going for it, but there's also a more progressive, keyboard-driven thing going on as well. This is a recording that one would expect out of the band around '73 or so, not '78 when everything was leaning towards Punk and Disco. Besides Townshend's three from the Lifehouse/Who's Next era, we also get three superlative tunes coming from Entwistle, only one of which he sings the lead on. I think this is the album where Entwistle's writing becomes indiscipherable from that of Townshend, as evidenced by comparsion between tracks like 'New Song' and 'Had Enough'. Well, the production is also responsible for a lot of this 'meshing'. Instead of Entwistle penning tunes which are really just solo songs that happen to appear on Who records, John begins writing songs in the mold of The Who. There's only one track on the whole album that I wouldn't consider to be first-rate, which is 'Guitar and Pen', and even that one has grown on me over the years. This would be the last true WHO recording in a long line of greatness. The last two albums have good songs on them, but are overall not up to par with the standards set by Tommy.

My uncle just lent this to me on Vinyl and it's pretty fucking cool because the artwork is actually on the record itself.

Didn't really like any of the songs on this other then the title track. Title Track alone warrants a 3.

Uninspiring sucky album.
The majority of the tracks are synth driven which is the downer of the entire album. John's tracks are better than Pete's - see Trick Of The Light.
Keith has no fire left on this album. He started to suck big time after Quadrophenia.
Guitar And Pen doesn't even sound like The Who.
Sister Disco is absolutely dreadful with that synth and Pete's horrid vocals.
The title track is passable.
Don't buy this stinker.

Oh man, this review really sucks. If you don't like keyboards then don't make a review of an album with keyboards
