Was waiting for the Romulus sighting. The only good thing that came of this was it inspird me to jam 13 ways to Bleed. Jamming Send in the Clowns as we speak.

This is actually way better than their previous album, which doesn't say much because that album was a total bore feast. This is quite good, but too safe and predictable for me to give it more than a 3.

Great review. It resonated the problems I found with this album as well. The whole album just taste blend and nothing memorable. The vocals were terribly produced in certain parts as well. It's got nothing on 13ways and YOTS in terms of music quality. The band totally lost the spark.

I don't know what all of you guys are smoking. A Different Kind of Pain was not a bad album. Just because it wasn't 13 Ways to Bleed on Stage 2 or Year of the Spider 2 does not mean it is a bad album. Cold went in a different direction with that album because Scooter lost his sister and he wanted to create an emotional album as a way to get over her death. To say this is better than A Different Kind of Pain which got an average score of 3.4 but yet rate this a 2.5 doesn't make any sense.

ADKOP is still my favorite album, but this one isn't far behind. COLD has definitely matured over time and you can hear it in the vocals as well as the music. COLD is one of the few bands that actually cares to produce songs with emotion... and if you just listen to these words and feel the music, it definitely brings emotion!
