Endgame is nowhere near Rust In Peace, what you claim is merely a blasphemy :P
However, Peace Sells... is a worthy rival for RIP, i'll give you that, although i think RIP is better.
The only reason I don't like "Rust In Peace" as much is the guys voice in some of the songs. Like he sounds ridiculous in "Take No Prisoners" and "Tornado of Souls" but I totally get why that album is critically acclaimed some songs are among their best ever

@Voivod... Hmmm I find "Endgame" to be deeply satisfying, in its own right anyway. Hard to compare these albums seeing as Megadeth is always changing their style and sound, though the last three albums might be the most consistent.
Peace sells is amazing, and extremely creative, especially with it's bluesy and subtle jazzy influences, all within a speed metal framework...
But all albums sound completely different from each other.

@pwalcher - Which RIP do you own? The remastered or original album? The vocals on the remastered version are not as good as the original in my opinion, but that's only because Mustaine had to redo them because the original source material was destroyed.
I get what you mean, though. I think Mustaine is at his best when he's doing his sarcastic snarl or simple clean singing... but... you get what you get, because Mustaine IS THE VOICE OF MEGADETH. Literally and metaphorically.

Let me clarify... not all of the vocals were redone, but I'm certain that "Take No Prisoners," "Five
Magics" and "Polaris" were...

definitely have remastered haha, wow didn't know that, oh well. "Lucretia" is my favorite Megadeth song hands down, just their other albums I liked better overall.

"Endgame"
is terrible. Too much wankery. Broaderick can shred, but his phrasing (or lack thereof) is non-existent.

endgame is far from terrible

"Part of the reason lies in the ambition of the band. In its attempt to rival fellow thrashers Metallica, Megadeth leader Dave Mustaine seems to have put more emphasis on making technically challenging compositions for the purpose of showing off instead of making something more accessible (and more enjoyable to an extent)"
That's EXACTLY why I prefer Megadeth over Metallica. I honestly relate to Mustaine's attitude. I wish Metallica had more interest in being super awesome than in being super rich.

But Metallica did make "technically challenging compostitions for the purpose of showing off", and out of it came the wankfest that is AJFA.

Yeah, it's acutally my favorite Metallica album. But Megadeth's "technically challenging compositions for the purpose of showing off" are not as contrived as Metallica's. AJFA, despite being my favorite Metallica album, I feel it occasionally drags. But that's just my opinion, I really love the sense of urgency I get from Mustaine's riffs and shredfests (something I've never found in a Metallica album).
