I always thought the second half of Pink Moon is a bit disappointing. The first 5-6 songs are unbelievable though.

I like the second half just as much as the first personally.

Well it's a matter of personal taste. It's not like i think Pink Moon sucks or anything. It's a 4.5 for me. But this is a stronger 4.5.

Well it's a matter of personal taste.
Of course.
Personally I think I'll always love Pink Moon and Five Leaves Left more than this.

I'd rather be the Devil is a bit too "out there" for his style imo, but the rest of this is exquisite.

"this doesn't come near any nick drake release for me"
Same. In terms of songwriting and emotion this doesn't even compare to Nick Drake.

As soon as I heard my first John Martyn song a few days ago I wondered if he was somehow inspired by Nick Drake, which would haven been cool considering Drake's obscurity at the time. Glad to hear they were friends.
