If this isn't metal performed with passion I don't know what is. Absolutely excellent.

three fuckin' ratings... Sputnik fails me.
Edit: New album in the works:
On Voivod's forthcoming studio album, the first without the contributions of Piggy:
"We have four songs completed and about five other ones in progress and it's more in the progressive metal vein, so it's reminiscent of the 'Dimension Hatross' era. We hope to record in the fall and have a new album out in the spring of 2012, so before the end of the world."

You know, in an interview for the Hellenic Metal Hammer, their new guitarist, Dan Mongrain, said that every member was equally contributing ideas for songs.
In other words, no member ever came with full songs for the band to play.
In this respect, i think they will do just fine, as this is the line of work they always followed.

Gonna spin this when I get my copy in the mail. Review was great and I would never expect anything less from the best staff member on this site : ).

I managed to 'listen' to this.
This is simply superb.
Dan Mongrain is a worthy heir of Piggy's legacy.
The new album will slay.
Edit: If "Thrashing Rage" (from Rrroooaaarrr) was in here as well, this would be a straight 5/5!!!!

no songs from "The Outer Limits" - my favorite prog/thrash album of all time...

yeah, this is definitely a minus point, but when a band has 12 albums and the first 9 are thought of as underground classics, it is very difficult to select a company of songs for a live concert...

Fuck this is awesome. I think the added production value boosts some of their older material.

hey man! Im native to Quebec, and am a headbanger. That allowed me to discover voivod on my own, and they are pretty much my fave band, up until Phobos. Yes, I like Negatron and Phobos. Anyways, this album really didn't matter to me, until I read this. So, today I went downtown and bought myself the record. And damn, your right. I like this version of nothingface better, and it pretty much all sounds amazing. Im guessing this means they will stick to their roots for their upcoming album.

I saw Voivod at Maryland Deathfest this year, and they were fucking awesome! That Martyr guitarist did a job well done filling in for Piggy. Nice to see that they still have the power!

That's because it didn't feature the original bass player (of course the new album didn't either, but it is the newest release, so...)

Cool. More people should have checked this out. We have all these people claiming to represent old school metal, but all
they mainly do is troll and spam.
