This isn't the broadway cast recording from the show is it? Because I think that in Rise Above 1 it's Jennifer Damiano who sings Bono's part, because I know for sure Bono doesn't sing in any of the songs onstage

That's a tricky question. You are absolutely right in that Bono doesn't ever sing on stage ever during the musical (if he did that would be quite hilarious LOL), but this album does claim to be the Broadway Cast recording from the show. That being said on the album it actually is Bono singing the verses, and not Damiano.

Also, I'm sincerely sorry Tyraelxy.
You are forgiven if you promise to review more :3

Ok, the whole part with Bono had me confused. I actually like this soundtrack, however. I listen to tons of musicals (my dad was a theatre major, so I grew up with them) and I think this is a nice change for a musical. They've been embracing rock lately (Next to Normal, for example) and I think it's interesting that this is close to a musical with basically all alternative music that also appeals to the masses. Some of the songs blend together to much, and the U2 influence bares it head a little too often, but I still believe their are more highlight than disasters

With great power comes great overindulgence
Irving has the ability to become a contributor, but he continues to review cartoon soundtracks.
Yep, summary is spot on.

Made huge changes to the review (that dumb opening paragraph about American Idol has been amputated). If anyone wants to tell me what they think about the new version that'd be awesome.
@ Fortheloveofmusic: You clearly know a lot more about musicals and theatre than I do. I'll be the first to admit I'm no shrink on musicals, but evaluating this album on a whole leads me to believe that it is nothing more than a compendium of second-rate tracks masquerading as a soundtrack to the most expensive Broadway play ever. To each his own though =)
@ Sowing: I have seen the future and it is Disney. Or Marvel.
PS - Ouch that stings. LOL.

I just realized how massive your first two paragraphs are. o_O

Hahah they're like three Pizza reviews each aren't they? =p They were even worse before I edited them though. And then there was that utterly superfluous American Idol paragraph that sat atop the whole affair like some obnoxious buzzard too, lol.

lol you're still going on about my short reviews I see. XD

When's your next review? You're on a roll - keep it going. I want to see the words "Staff" under your name soon =)

But I was traveling =( I missed lots of things. When I left home the Conservatives still had a minority and Ignatieff was feeling like a champ. When I came back Boston had already won the Stanley Cup and Luongo was feeling bad to the balls.

i will try to review again soon, for you irving

^^ oh did we ever win that cup.
also I agree: more Irving reviews of rock and or roll albums.

What's this, someone else reviewing a Broadway show? Can't read this at the moment, but I can't wait till I get the opportunity to do so.
As for the musical, everything that I've heard from here was sorely disappointing.

I will try to comply. I think I should start taking myself a bit more seriously as a reviewer from now on (in my defense, this is a real album).
