Fuck this band.

They were awesome last night at Grooving. So were Architecture, absolutely amazing.
Best was definitely Gotye, unbelievably good live!

Yeah, Architecture were better than I thought they would be. I chose Art vs. Science over Gotye.. seriously fucking amazing show. The lights were insane, wish I could go back. I do wish I saw Eyes Wide Open live, though.

ugh Art Vs Science, really? Gotye was so, so so good, played one of the tightest sets I've seen in a while.

DavID hated this album before he heard it.
Sounds like you 2 had a great time... Shut-up, I wanna go to Bendigo.
Have AiH toned their live show down since losing 3 members?
|
| |
Not at all, was still as energetic and choreographed as ever haha
Was a fantastic gig, except for the squish that occured when bliss n eso followed the wombats, as it seemed absolutely everyone wanted to be on the rail for both...

Was considering reviewing this too, I remember one of their older songs but can't for the life of me remember the name and i'm too lazy to google it.
Great job, Davey.

Oh come on Dougie... Squishes are part of the festival fun, aren't they?
Thanks Nevin. Their most famous song is 'Lets Dance to Joy Division'.

Haha, the squish can be annoying at times but festivals wouldn't be the same without it The squish was pretty heavy for The Wombats/Bliss n Eso but you should have seen it for The Aston Shuffle/Art vs. Science. Talk about not being able to move an inch..

It was all those mimes wanting to get in to hear Art vs Science.

I always loved this band and I have no idea why. The debut wasn't art or anything, but it was great fun.
|
| |
I really liked their debut. Might have to check this out I guess, but a consistent release from them would be nice.

My review so far in a nut-shell: So yeah, this is pretty much excatly the same as their first one but different. Still a 2.5 though.
Thoughts?

They're fun & they're inconsistent. I think we just have to live with that.
"exactly the same, but different" huh Rosco? Strangely, I know what you mean. Good luck on expanding though.
Keep them away from her Lance.

Nice review Davey but this album makes me a little bit sick. Does it not shit you that their big single from this album is pretty much the exact same song as their big single from their last album?

Thanks Sauce... I'd go & see a doctor about that sickness though.
My answer to your question is "no". In fact, I predominantly disagree with you. I felt 'Lets Dance to JD' had more of an indie-rock vibe, where-as 'Tokyo' has a more synthy/dancey feel. The melodies & hooks may be similar, but I think there is sufficient differentiation.

I was referencing Moving to New York. I guess that song was a bit bigger when I first heard these guys so I stand corrected. The crux of my statement stands though. One trick pony band should run a warm bath and slit it's wrists.

Oh, righteo. A little more, I guess, but there's still a danceir approach prevalent here. And I think they have done that to try & get rid of the "one trick pony" criticism. Whether its worked or not is doubtful. Probably not worth committing suicide either way.

Yeah, probably not. I've had a big day.
