i really love most of this (especially the lyrics, really nice to see someone so smart and insightful
about religion which is really rare in pop music imo), my big qualm is that i don't like the opening
and closing tracks

Can't believe you don't like the opening and closing tracks roberts. "Getting Ready For Christmas Day" caught me off guard at first I guess you could say, but eventually grew on me a ton (much like the rest of this album). "Rewrite" might be my favorite here, but hard to say.

This is good music. One of the better reviews I have read today, nicely done.

Great album. Love how Paul Simon still re-invents himself at his age and his movement in theme to old-age and death is amazing and witty.
Nobody has as much character in their music as Paul Simon any more. =)

really good, opening track sucks though. what the hell is that panning effect; terrible decision

| |
It's bad in ear-phones but on stereo speakers it's awesome. =)

I dunno I think it's kinda clever
Favourite is still Questions, though, best song he's done in decades
|
| |
Questions is gorgeous, i love how it seems to go really off track during the "it's JAY Z" part and then suddenly it just returns to that really simple three note guitar line
yeah

Yeah, that song is great but not my favourite. I think my faves are 'Dazzling Blue' and 'Amulet'
|
| |
this is entirely too many songs but i think "dazzling blue," "the afterlife," "rewrite," "love and hard times," and "questions for the angels" are all really great
|
| |
I think 'Amulet' is great. Such a beautiful instrumental piece. Sets up 'Questions' perfectly.

I saw him live in support of this album. He's 70 and still jamming like a badass. Paul Simon is the man.

Yes! The tour for this was sick. Saw it in June. The version of "That Was Your Mother" seriously has to be one of the coolest things I've ever seen live, they just killed it that night.
