Kilts, penguins and drunk roos

It's clear, well-written, agree with your points, nothing to pick at except you could've done a synopsis of track 6, lol

Ooh, dude, just a little nitpick, some people get pissy if you have more than one review on the front page at the same time, so I'd be careful about that. Best to wait a day or two. But yeah. Just a pointer.

Lol mate, i usually wait 12 to 24 hours before adding another review. In this case i waited 13. I'm aware of the hate that

creates but i do leave a gap. Thanks for looking out for me.

Np, just wasn't sure if you knew. But ahh. The low volume of reviews over the easter thing must have caused it. Sorry dude!

I'd consider changing your summary to: "While THIS is nothing new by Soulfly's standards, OMEN is...." it just reads a little better, even though I think your first sentence is a perfect summary

(now a trademark to the records Max has helped produce in his career)

This is a little iffy as well, maybe something as simple as "a trademark of his that dates all the way back to his humble beginnings" or some nonsense

more diverse then the other efforts

*than

The troop of Soulfly has learnt it seems to mix different elements into an album rather than display non-stop chugging which may not be entirely a good thing.

This is also kinda awkward. first off I would lose "troop" and say "the guys in Soulfly" or whatever "have finally learnt to mix different elements into the mix, rather than....' Also, everything after "rather than" kinda contradicts the points you just made about the increased lead guitar work making it an easier/better listen

driving riff and rhythm work

*riffs, or "over A typical and driving riff'

and while slightly modified and modernised to suit Soulfly’s slightly different playing style compared to that of Cavalera’s efforts with Sepultura.

When you say "and while" there's normally some sort of redemption, like "while the track has been modified and touched up by Soulfly's more tribal leanings the track is still, unequivocally, Sepultura in every possible way" or something like that. You say "and while" and then just end the sentence

I enjoyed this review though, and you're definitely improving as a writer as well. You're starting to really address your points more succinctly. The only problem I have with this review is that there really isn't much too it. Outside of the bonus tracks and a overarching paragraph explaining the sound of the album as a whole you don't really go into the meat of the album and give us a feel for any of the individual tracks, sans the instrumental which you only comment on as being up to par with the previous instrumentals. Tell me about some of the tracks (not all, just some). Which ones are great and why, which ones aren't up to par. I get the feeling that all this review really needs is one more paragraph just giving us some analysis on this. I was surprised that after you described the album as being great with increased lead work you immediately moved onto the special edition tracks. Give me some more detail dude

But what is here is good though

Thanks Suds, i still have an abrupt, straight-forward approach, but i think that's actually part of my writing style.

Yep, ya just need to keep writing and eventually it falls into place. I used to do nothing but read and write. It all comes with practice.

Used to do plenty of reading, i was one of those 'book a day' kinda guys. Never liked English classes though, which might actually explain a lot.
