This sounds cool. I might dabble in it a bit today.

I wish they were streaming this somewhere. They need to have something available for all the people that have never heard them. They're much bigger in Europe, but here I'm the only person I know (IRL or online -- other than Meatplow) that has even heard of them.

review intrigued me, doesn't sound like my cup of tea but i might explore this album anyway

When I search for this you're review is the top result for Bing, it's rather cool.
I do wish this was streaming somewhere, but it kinda adds to the allure; elusive music that might be insanely enjoyable if you can find it.

I just keep suggesting that people try Era in the meantime. That's my favorite ITN album.

I'm giving the snippets on Amazon a listen, will probably go through the entire tracklist of Era on Youtube next.
Edit: Some of these sound so gorgeous!

Cool. The Amazon snippets definitely won't do the songs justice.

So you liked Era better than this one Willie? I'm about halfway through and am completely blown away so far with it.

Yeah. That one is my favorite. This one is really good too, but I'm not a big fan of the deeper singing on this one (although it's not bad).
If you want to go back even further, I'd recommend Sense and Duality (in that order). Those are the two that really got me into this band.
Edit: Or at least find the song "Blue Religion" from Sense.

Started checking out their discography and holy shit they have some amazing stuff
|

I'm the only person I know (IRL or online -- other than Meatplow) that has even heard of them.
I really haven't heard enough of them. that one album was impressive, but more in the realms of martial industrial and marred with some cheesy horn stabs which i'm told is not representative of their work at all. there is a wonderfully cinematic quality to their arrangements though.
guess i'll work through their discography soon enough

I'm really really enjoying Era, I might just have to go farther back and give those others you mentioned a look.

Just listened to L'Esprit and it sounded like a neoclassical orchestrated version of Stars of the Lid for most of it. Pretty damn good

i should check this out

Started checking out their discography and holy shit they have some amazing stuff Yeah, they do. I have liked them for years and even I haven't had the chance to go through their entire discography.

I haven't heard that album, but the ones I have heard definitely don't sound like you described so it might be good to dig further.
