when I was thinking of all the similar artists, I lent more towards new-wave... & felt that was definitely the case with their previous album.
I can see that. And its not like the divide between the two genres is that vast.
The best 2 songs even get a little stuck in my head! Unfortunately, I also really hate the worst 2 songs.
and good to see they snuck in at least partially for a little mind-fuck. Outside of 'In Case We Die' every one of their albums has a handful of god-awful tracks which are unbearable. (see: 90% of the last album)

Great Review. This is really disappoiting to hear though. I had high hopes for anything AIH.

This the first time I heard this band so I can't compare it with any of their previous stuff. But I enjoyed a lot of this record.
Then again, it hasn't sent me digging for their previous stuff.

i expect this to be as divisive as best coast is for us but who knows.
might go see these guys in brighton soon, i'm sure their older material boasts a good show.

Yet, there was even a couple of songs on 'In Case We Die' that I hated.
Thanks Connair. Give it a go anyway.
Robin, it's maybe my favourite AiH too. It will be interesting to see if they are still as hyperactive as they used to be live (or if they just stand behind keyboards & computers). Let us know if you do go see them.
Shazwagon, it's almost impossible to say whether or not you will like their previous albums if you like this. Sorry.
Let us know what you think Lewis. It's definitely better than their last, but I doubt you'll like this as much as 'ICWD'.
Well that was blunt balcaen. 'Do the Whirlwind' does indeed rule.

Might have to crucify you for giving this such a low rating... snap?
Nah, haven't really listened to this yet, but love Contact High

Great review DaveyBoy.
I've only ever listened to a couple of songs off their work...guess I'll stay away for good now lol.

Holy Dougy sighting... If you like 'Contact High', you'll probably like most of the album. Although, that is one of the catchier songs I guess.
Thanks Irving. Maybe YT 'Contact High'. I guess it's a good barometer of this LP.

Nice review, Davey. Pretty much the same feelings as me about this. I liked their last record, but this was crap
I'll still see them at GTM though, they're decent live.

Thanks Billy. I presume they're at least entertaining live. Hope the knee is doing ok mate.

Yeah, i've seen them once before and they were quite good.
Knees doing well, mate. Lots of rehab etc. at the moment.

Yeah I'm gonna see them at GTM as well, no one else is on at that time that I'm interested in.

Probably one of the better things about GTM. Usually, there aren't too many clashes.
