Album rules, tho personally I don't think its that obscure as you make it out to be.
About the production, I reckon its what you'd expect from Sweden really, guitar high in the mix and emphasis on melody. Makes the album sound much more accessible than low-fi albums (e.g. inside the unreal), but whether that appeals to you or not is preference, I guess.

omg Hawks your review brought me so many memories......
I first heard about this band from a compilation cassette (!!!!!!) in 1994, issued by their Hellenic record company, Unisound Records and distributed strictly in Greece through the Hellenic Metal Hammer metal magazine.
This cassette was presenting the label's latest releases.
i still have this compilation cassette........
Unisound Records, was more or less a rip-off label, and the code for Uncanny's album was USR 008.
That company had in its portfolio the following Black Metal bands:
Mortuary Drape - All the Witches Dance (1994)
Rotting Christ - Non Serviam (1994)
Uncanny - Splenium for Nyktophobia (1994)
Thou Art Lord - Eosforos (1994)
Necromass - Mysteria Mystica Zofiriana (1994)
Malicious Onslaught - Brutal Gore (1994)
Equimanthorn - Nindinugga Nimshimshargal Enllilara (1994)
All aforementioned bands and records are highly recommended, especially Equimanthorn, Thou Art Lord, Rotting Christ, Necromass and Mortuary Drape.
