Pretty solid album if you ask me, a lot more enjoyable than their previous albums yet more savage than anything they could conjure up later on down the track. I especially love 'Mourning Palace', not only did it get me into more extreme metal, it's one of my favourtite metal songs of all time.

I don't know if I can get into the rest of Dimmu Borgir, the vocals sound really weird for me, but the melody in here is just great, I love the symphonic elements.

Aight, I got it today, and it definatly beats Death Cult and In Sorte. I love thier early cound. None of the bull that their newer albums have with their samples and whatnot.

The few songs i heard from this album are great, makes me want to get it. I love Puritanical though. Thats my favorite album from them. In Sorte isnt that great, but i like a couple of songs from there..

I have only heard Mourning Palace and I love it. I am a little confused though. I always thought this was black metal but in your review that this was a transition album. Then what is black metal?

I have no idea what game it was. And its not like he did it all the time. He only did it for Sorgens Kammer. Plus Shagrath and Silenoz didnt re-record it when they re-recorded the album. They just made a part 2, which was awesome.
