I used to love Coldplay, but then they released this. Parachutes is still their best album by far.

It's fair to say that I know this album so well I hardly even need to actually have it with me in any capacity to play it. I can just imagine pretty much every note in my head. It's like retina burns just with music.
Other than this, North, I agree with you regarding Parachutes. I actually think - with little to no evidence whatsoever - that their new record could be even better than this. It's been billed in certain quarters as the ambitious nature of VLV in a far more Parachutes-y sound. Sound good?

I could never fully get into Parachutes, even though its good at some points. To me they perfected their style on Rush Of Blood, then rehashed it for X&Y. Here they started experimenting.

Sounds good. I learned almost every single song of theirs on the piano, so I'm still a dedicated fan of theirs, but I haven't bothered to learn anything on this album... It just didn't connect with me.
I'm hoping their next effort will blow me away.

Both "Yes" and "Chinese Sleep Chant" are among my favorite songs on the album, though where exactly they fall, I couldn't say. The album, amazingly, still holds up well even today (for me, at least).
