Old Stone Sour >>>>>> New Stone Sour
Slipknot is heavier, but SS puts more into thier music I think. It's too bad he left SS in the beginning to join this band - old SS had a great rock sound with some sweet soloing to match.

Be that as it may, this isn't necessarily a bad CD.
Actually, I have been listening to it alot more lately, and realize it's a great CD. Not, Tool great, but it's underrated, IMO.
Although, to say that SS put more into their music than Slipknot after Volume 3 I think is a bit of a slap in the face to Slipknot. Pre-V-3, I'd agree, but Post-V-3, I'd have to strongly disagree.

I'm not saying this is a bad CD. I rather enjoy it actually.
But I would say that since around the time of this release there was a lot of debate about whether or not Slipknot would break up, they would've been more into SS (which may be the reason Slipknot almost broke up in the first place). But it's true that Vol.3 does contradict that.

Come on guys, i just got this cd a few weeks ago and im lovin it! i was suprised about how melodical they were. i think the cd is full of anything and everything a heavy metal fan could want; a bit of thrash here and there, heavy stuff, screaming, clean melodic singing, a few catchy lyrical hooks (idle hands:'run, yeh doesn't matter, i need all the miracles that i can gather...' what a freakin great chorus?!) and not to mention some pretty cool soloing! Lewy, i agree whole heartedly that the solo from get inside is so cool! is it very hard? although i gotta say i was disappointed josh and jim didn't show off any more of their talent in solo form... or maybe thats just the 80's metal fan in my head screaming out for more?
i really enjoyed this album, there are quite a few very awesome tracks, and not too many low points (although i would say that choose and blotter are a little bit, um, ****?) i think i'd give it bout a 4/5, just cuz its the kind of cd that you will get over, and may possibly just sit round in your collection forever. fingers crossed i dont make that stage!

I've only heard "Bother" and and little bit of "Inhale." They both sound cool and I'm hoping to get the album sometime soon.

the thing with SS is the fact that... omg get this... Corey actually sings and progresses his voice very well. i love this cd, and yes i do agree that they put alot more into their music with SS than they did with slipknot. but vol. 3 was a kick*** cd also. but hey, they are 2 different bands so i shouldnt compare.
thats why corey taylor went back to SS, to make music he wanted to without pissin off the slipknot fans.

Christ almighty, shut the fuck up, why the fuck must everyone make a big deal about who's better out of slipknot or stone sour, both bands are good, but for fuck sake why must you always do this??? Just enjoy the fuckin music you idiots! Everytime I go on sites with band like stone sour on it, some fuckers makes such a big deal over who's better!

Codiak: i never said corey LEFT slipknot. i merely said he went back to stone sour. implying hes now working with both bands.
and i know most of the members have their own projects. like joey in murder dolls and shawn with his projects he's working on.

I actually really like this. Orchids, Monolith, and Get Inside are all cool, and Bother is just utterly freakin sweet.
