hear it all the time at work, and I continue to try and work out how Steve Howe, Greg Lake AND John Wetton were all in this group at some point.

Well John Wetton does sing "Starless", the actual best song ever.

I bought this album in '82, when it was released. A 4 may seem too high, but there are plenty of great songs on here. I think they combine well pop and prog with a good kind of cheese. I heard that it's the best Asia album, and I wouldn't dare verifying it. I haven't heard anything good about the rest.

Yeah it's okay, but I like a few prog-pop albums better like Duke or 90125.

Best prog pop is Supertramp
Now if we talk about AOR-Prog (Kansas, Styx, or this)... Kansas and Pavlov's Dog's debut are the best

Maybe I did overestimate this one. I prefer 90125 and I cannot give it more than 3.5 both in the Yes standards and among all my other Yes votes. However, I still think that Asia deserves that 4, as a whole. Could a 3.5 surpass a 4 sometimes haha.
Edit; Duke is a good call. It's the last great Genesis album. I gave it a 4.5

lol Jethro yeah those ratings are always tricky.
@Gentleman I should have clarified just 80s prog-pop. Yeah Supertramp or the Moody Blues destroy all that haha

Between active users I'm probably one of the biggest Asia "fans" on this site, and I gave 4 positive ratings out of 13 LPs. XXX and Silent Nation (that review is beyond ridicolous) are sweet, Phoenix too even if the price to pay for having two prog epics is also having too many ballads.
The world needs to open its eyes on Toto though, their rich and very varied AOR sound often flirts with prog and jazz fusion (Miles Davis wanted Lukather with him for a reason). Check out Hydra and Falling in Between, you'll be surprised. I'm definitely doing their discog when I'm done with Riot's, and I'll rewrite my Isolation review because it was really on the defensive side
I'm not insane guys, please give a listen to these tracks: "Hydra", "St. George and the Dragon", "Dying on My Feet", and "Jake to the Bone".
I swear I'm calm hahaha
