This album ist great. If it weren't for the overused chugging and if the songwriting was a little bit better, this would easily be a 4 or more for me. Singer has a great voice.

on 'quote on quote' they do this crazy guitar thing early on that goes zoooom and then seems to quite down but instead goes backwards like moooooz and it completely mind fucks me.

the cd is totally front loaded. the dying hymn makes every other song off the album seem pointless to listen to because of its sheer awesomeness.

Kinda reminds me of Shai Hulud mixed with something poppier, like He Is Legend. Wish they stuck to the brootal vocals more, but I'm just nitpicking.

Good review, dude!
I'm digging this album quite a lot. I like their vocalist because he doesn't overdo the 'soul' thing, like Jonny Craig and the dude from Woe, Is Me (hate that band.) Also, the drummer does a lot of cool things I like, almost Travis Orbin-ish at certain times, with some spiffy snare ghost notes. :D
The guitar work is pretty cool, better than most other bands in this sometimes-boring genre.
So yeah, really enjoyable album!
