Which would you say is better this or Kivenkantaja? I have most of their other stuff exept these two
Also my first comment :D
it's about the same imo
also I put down my rating to a 4. I still love it but the lack of variation (like the folk interludes in Verisakeet) kind of bugs me now I listen more. still a great, great album.
verisakeet > v: havitetty > voimasta ja kunniasta = kivenkantaja = this > suden uni
for me
Also good review Crysis :]

I listened to Havitetty last night driving home and I realized this doesn't compare in terms of quality, guess that kind of sealed the fate for the 3.5 review.

Yeah, it's a good bit better. Nice review.
Can't believe there isn't a Torn Beyond Reason rip yet.

Hmmm if it's not as good as V: Havitetty then I could imagine that I'll have this in the 3.5/low 4 range as well.

It's quite a bit different so you may even prefer this to Havitetty. Either way it's 100% worth a listen.

'Is it superb? No. Is it excellent? Absolutely.'
That's a 4 then. No?

If you strictly stick by the broad sputnik rating descriptions (which in my opinion need some re-working). See my first comment.
Thanks Jared and Gmork

Fair enough, still think you could have replaced 'excellent' with 'great'. Good review is pos'd nontheless as I did with your Marrow review dispite disagreeing with it entirely.
This only just dropped through my door today so only listened to the first 3 tracks but have the feeling this won't be up there with Havitetty.

Yeah when I wrote that part I thought it might confuse people but just went with it anyway. Might think of a better word than "excellent" or "great" later but right now I'll leave it as is.

I wouldn't worry about it, your writing is pretty great (far better than I could muster without question) and conveys your thoughts on the record really well. Just me being a pedant ;)

I've listened this a couple of times and I can already say that it's better than V:Hävitetty which I never liked much. The theme works great on this album, but I still need to listen it more.

I agree with this review immensely. I wish I hadn't been expecting so much more, but damn. Even the title track off Tulimyrsky destroys this in its 30-minute entirety.
Yeppers. Great review Kyle, album is sadly slipping into 2.5 range for me, way too mid-paced and boring for my liking.

This album surely doesn't give everything it has to offer without reading the lyrics and seeing how the story progresses song by song. I think it's very essential to know the story, if one really wants to get into the core of this album.
