MFKR is my favorite Slipknot release, so anything that sounds like that would be just fine.

Seriously, it could be a combo of both. They've obviously changed since Iowa, the next album could be different from everything they've done or it could be Iowa Pt.2 which I wouldn't bother with.

I doubt they'll be going back to the old style at this point.

On another note, I'm interested in the new Stone Sour album.

ShadowsFallen: you should do a review for the first Stone Sour review because the current one is pretty bad.

When does it come out? Has a single been released?

Is it bad? In that case, I'll most likely do it along with Carcass. The first one was really good.

Not much is known about the new one so far, but I'm going to check up on it now.

Wow, it is bad. I'm surprised it hasn't been gotten rid of.

Good review, but although I haven't heard all of it I doubt I would agree. Vermilion I must admit I enjoyed, even with the really cliched feel of it and stereotypical nu-metal angst lyrics. But the other singles I (I forget their names) would probably get something far below a zero from me.

With a name like that, it's going to be hard to get respect around here. And by the way, you can't give songs a rating below zero.

There really isn't anything cliched about any of the music or the lyrics here. That's what gave it the defined edge over earlier works.

Nope, improved drastically actually in the lyrics department.

good review man. this cd to me was a huge step in the right direction for slipknot. they do need more solos, but the ability to play that they showed here blew me away. this is a good cd, a very good one.

Didn't they say this is the last album they will make. With that said i think the band abandoned everything that Slipknot was about (sold out) and just made ad cd that they knew would make them alot of money. I mean why would you just throw away a scream so powerful for some weak shouts. Slipknot was all about chaos, not acoustic love songs. Though i do like this album, its not Slipknot.

^^ Corey Taylor damaged his vocals, he didn't purposly get weaker. Also, this is (as several members in Slipknot have said) NOT their last album, and they plan to continue their reign. However, they also said don't expect a new CD anytime soon.

How the hell is this album selling out? They've done something way more diverse and technical than either of their past one-dimensional shitfests.

I can't stand s/t, or Iowa. This is their best album, but I'm still not sure what I would rate it.

It wasn't a bad album, don't get me wrong, but I think they should have stayed with their classic Nu metal style. The acoustic songs weren't bad, but they were unexpected. Their next album will hopefully be better.

Nice review.
