Another solid effort from Crowbar, even if it was six years after the last one. There isn't anything surprising here but it's all very engaging and well executed, 'Isolation (Desperation)' and the title track proving to be just as effective as the band's earlier material. The slower likes of 'Liquid sky and cold black earth' and 'Let me mourn' are slightly monotonous towards the end but this is more than made up for by the furious nature of 'The cemetery angels' and the mellow yet graceful 'Echo an eternity'. Let's hope that the band don't take as long to release the next album, if there is one.

anyone have thoughts on the new one? seems a bit more energetic than this one so far, which is saying something. Crowbar is so fucking consistent. m/

Liked this much more than expected. Sure it has a couple of fillers, but Kirk and co. delivers the riffs, and songs like The Cemetery Angels or Cleanse Me, Heal Me seriously kick ass.

This album doesn't deserve to be that underrated, to me it's not worse than most of their other albums, it deserves at least 3.7 to 3.9.

I really love the last minute in I Only Deal In Truth, one of the best ever Crowbar moments, and that means something.

Of course there are standout songs and lesser songs like on every Crowbar album, but as always (at least for me) the standouts do push the lesser ones to a higher level, means that I can easily listen to a Crowbar album as a whole without wanting to skip a song. The way Kirk and the band delivers even the "weaker" songs is fascinating.
