"basically non appreciative of the word 'faggy' really."
I would agree for the most apart, though I can see it being used in cases such as Chan, for example, said he appreciated Glee for it's sort of gay aesthetic or whatever it was.

No worries, Eno, I get your point.
Still on the fence about your usage of "faggy", though.

still, i like it (obviously)

My only complaint about the album (and this goes for their other records as well) is that it feels so short, almost abbreviated.

Good review. I quite enjoy this. It just feels different and refreshing.

Yeah, "refreshing" is a good word. A lot of these melodies are really sunny and appealing.
Album has been totally hijacking my last.fm.

For some reason, this doesn't 'come together' as a record...but it has some great moments.
First Deerhoof I heard, btw.

Well, it's certainly an eclectic album. I feel that it coheres very well, though.

hrmf, more reasons to stop caring about pitchfork's opinion
but now this album is bound to be relegated to the "minor Deerhoof" category, which makes me sad as it is IMO far superior to both Offend Maggie and Friend Opportunity

i too feel i have under-estimated this. there are some bits i still really don't like ("must fight current") but moments with the exact same feel that i love ("super duper"). so i think i just don't really get what's going on yet. "no one asked to dance" is gorgeous though.
