The opening of I Am Abomination is almost bowel-churningly wicked...just a hoarse "Hellfire" from the vocalist.



Black metal is fast becoming my new favourite genre in metal.

erm, a while back i was talking about how the keyboards didnt impress me... and ppl said no keyboards... theres keyboards on Hellfire, just thought id mention that. or maybe theyre really effects-out guitars, but with these guys, i doubt it

The only cool song is the first one, after that this album goes into auto-drive mode, no variation, it just pounds away, only the last track has some atmosphere.

Their black metal, they have crappy production, they're named after the year of the black plague, they have/ had an ex-murder in their lineup (Frost I believe), and they could pass as real satanists.

I just rated a Zao record so I thought it would be good to rate the other side of the spectrum. This is my favorite 1349 album. Its straight SINister.

Normally when I think of raw black metal I think of haunting atmosphere that makes you turn around every 2 seconds to make sure no one is about to stab you.
