No it's okay; I mean reviews are always subjective no matter how unbiased we may try to be. This is my opinion and nothing more, I still encourage anyone who thinks this is down their alley to check it out!
You're right. To each their own. Don't get me wrong about Blackmore's Night; They never would figure in any of my favorite stuff' lists, but they still deserve some love that I'm afraid, they'll never get after that so to call 'forgettable' release. Sure I'll give it a brief little shot even if I'm quite pessimist and not a big fan of Candice Night (she's actually a good singer but she tries too hard on the edges imo).

Pretty good review man. Seeing a 1.5 I thought you'd tear it apart a bit more. Especially since I haven't seen a negative review from you in a while.

The first impression is often the best, Sowing. I'm not irritated at all with these low ratings/esteems on here, and I still have to listen to that damn shit. However I hope this album will not prevent people from investigating their previous works. Oh, and your sound off is hilarious. Bumped!

After listening to this, I can say that this review is spot on. Well done Sowing.

Whatever, man. It's your opinion. They don't have to agree. I for one have not heard anything by these guys so I have no judgment.

not to sound like an ass, but i'm actually curious: what do you like about them?

didn't like that first paragraph. history always seems to be romanticised.

It will never compare to the epic Knott-Irving showdown
LOOOOOL, yeah, I think I scarred Knott permanently there...he wrote a similarly-veined review recently, and when I pos-ed it he was caught off guard and admitted he expected a neg. Then we spent the rest of the thread happily making Knott jokes XD

Even if both bands have a few similarities (mostly on Mostly Autumn debut albums) I shouldn't name them on the same line. Labelled prog folk and strongly influenced by Pink Floyd, MA offer a wider spectrum of colours than Blackmores'Night, the latter suffering of a lack of innovation. If your curious enough, try 'The Last Bright Light'. Band is really great.

I couldn't blame you. The difference here, is that my ear is a bit accustomed to them. On the other hand, despite her cute voice, the singer sounds pretty much ennoying to me. Also, their overall style is way too repetitive and their 'myths and legends' landscape sounds terribly phony. There are some scattered interesting passages though. Out of curiosity, please tell me what you think of this;
