I read this and I was like why the hell isn't this guy a contrib yet? Mysteries of life! Pos.
edit: Damn a well-placed and totally true Jane Doe reference! HELL YES

like how u mentioned that theres a doom type element to the album, i definitely thought this was quite slow n doomy too...and with little variations track-wise. cool review

Nice review, I'll need to check this out.

pretty average review
your comparisons with portal at the beginning come off as shallow - just because they share members doesn't mean that they are a lot like each other (and i realise you said they have their own style). it's more of an australian thing i think (or even a queensland thing), as there are other bands who also play occult and chaotic death metal (such as grave upheaval or aethyrvorous)

"Thanks man. I mean technically I'm just comparing the fact that it's not unorganized like that album. I felt it was a good reference, considering I don't like Jane Doe like you said."
I know that how you feel about that album so that comparison may work for you but you also know that that album is hailed across the site as a masterpiece so the comparison won't exactly work for many others. Knowing this it would've made much more sense to take an album that's generally disliked for that reason so that everyone can agree and understand what you mean. That's why i think the reference itself just kinda feels like you trying to rub in the fact that you don't like a sputnik favourite. But yeah, other than that good work lol

Great album, review isn't your best and has several really awkward sentences and gross generalities that need fixing. Plus that Jane Doe reference that people have pointed out.
|
| |
also: i'm not sure if you've ever actually listened to jane doe (lol), but if you did i'm sure you would agree that it is not "disorganized" but rather quite structured. that was one of the first albums where converge began writing standard "rock" songs (ie: verse-chorus-verse structure) with 2-3 riffs per song, whereas their previous material was basically "riff salad", with tons of riffs per song. THAT was fucking chaos man

the Jane Doe reference reads as really forced and awkward i have to agree, sorry bro.
|
| |
First thing's first, this album is chaotic as balls... This album has plenty of organization
seems a little contradictory. and yes, the jane doe reference isn't really needed. review isn't terrible, but a quick search for existing reviews of this album online will give you an idea on how you could have done this better. no neg no pos

Lol at the Jane Doe reference, great review (pos).
People who negged probably didn't like the Jane Doe reference.

Australia is very potent in producing dark death metal,I don't know what kind of mojo is shrouding that particular region but I want some.
