@MJ and yet i think that's what makes this album so perfect. The juxtaposition of warm, uplifting songwriting and cold, alien electronics puts the listener right in the middle of Gibbard's thoughts. It gives the feeling that he's depressed and disoriented, trying to find his way through the melancholy with his lyrics and melodies.

Idk whenever I'm feeling down, I put this on and it pulls me right out of my rut. I wouldn't say it makes me happy really, but it makes me feel like I'm not alone. Of course not everyone has the same reaction to this album I'm sure, but I think there are people who understand what I'm saying.

I like they song they did together on the Dntel record more than the songs on here, but it's still a great album. "Such Great Heights" is catchy dammit. Another good review, you deserve staff brah. not for contributer, knott for staff (much too stoned to be clever on the Internet)

to be honest Adam, I was disappointed in the change of username. Strikey was my boy.

don't 'Give Up' man we all still enjoy reading your reviews and I know you still enjoy writing them. being staff is overrated anyway, it's not like you get paid, you just have to deal with fucktards who don't like your "hipster" lists

I would be giving up sputnik not 'giving up' on a crusade for staff which doesn't exist except in

desire.

But idk we'll see in the meantime this album will help me feel less wound up.

ahh fair enough. the ironic thing is you'll probably get promoted in the next round without even trying.

The alternate versions on the We Will Become Silhouettes CDS are good too. Edit: actually all the

extras on all three CDS's that I'm aware of are pretty good.
