It's not a bad CD at all. I like her country/rock side and therefore like the songs here. "Sooner Or Later" is the only weak spot; it sounds too much like "Independence Day" in melody. There are also some barnburners like the opening track and very pretty songs like "Everything Comes And Goes." Do I like her pop/rock side more? A little bit. But she does this well.
As for the review, it's ok, even though I disagree with about every word.

Irving - I'm not sure I'd change anything except maybe to expand on things a bit here and there. Use more descriptive words for why the songs come off as bland. Otherwise, pretty good review.
I do rate The Spirit Room as a 5, personally.
