glad this got a review, i've been digging this album ever since it came out in late september. i agree that more people should actually listen to this record, as i've come across a lot of people who talk shit on this band because of their crappy live performance clips on youtube, but when they actually listen to the record they wind up loving the band. my only complaint with this record is that it seems to drop off in memorable tracks near the end

Listened to this once so far. It's entertaining and is good for what it is but I don't really see it to be more than a 3.

this album sounds like its not sure which direction it wants to go with this "witch house" genre, its got noisy, distorted sounds (probably the "rape-gaze") chillwave sounds and vocals with tons of kicks and snares, and dark, gothic sounding southern rap-inspired hip-hop, maybe 1 or 2 tracks i can't sit through or stand, some i think were ok, and some i did really like, overall, it's ok, not my first recommendation for looking up witch house, but possibly the second.

i like this band's sound a lot but holy fuck can the drums get annoying at times. frost has hands down some of the worst drum programming i've ever heard. the drum samples themselves are cheap as hell sounding (seriously, the average garageband drum kit sounds better) and the beat is borderline nonsensical. and for the love of god they need to drop the rap parts (thankfully they don't show up too oftern). i love the melodies and the general atmosphere of this album, but the way it's executed isn't really that good. i think they have potential though. unfortunately the singers self-proclaimed love of "homothugs" makes me wonder whether they'll ever drop some of the more aggressively wigger-ish aspects of their sound. but despite my criticism of this album, king night and killer are both fantastic.

Might 4.

this is good for the most part, though I really feel that "Trapdoor" blows everything else out of the water

O yea one more thing, why in the fuck are the drums on almost every track sound like they were played through the cheapest keyboard you could buy at a thrift store? The drum tones are awful. Andthe rapping is mediocre at best...
