I expected to casually fall in love with this like I did with their debut (if that makes sense), and I listened last winter a bunch of times... didn't work. listened in the spring a few times... didn't work. Summer? nope. Fall? nope. A few days ago? nope. Oh well.

so many people I know love their first album and hate this one. That makes 0 sense to me. It's more of the same, and this is as good if not better.
Still, good review. I kind of have a soft spot for this album I guess because when I saw them at Sasquatch this year, it was the first day, the sun was setting...I don't know it was just fucking magical for me. Live music moment of 2010 fo sheeeeeez. It was during California English that I really started to feel the set and get into it.

i disagree. im not sure why you found this so underwhelming but hey, thats why everyone has opinions. i think ezra has a pretty great voice though... and he hit everything live, which is rare for something as meticulous as the vocals in these songs.
