Not to be a dick, but it seems like you took some of the lyrical descriptions a little to far. For instance the song "Fisticuffs" is clearly about Yankee Sullivan, a boxer who was killed under suspicious circumstances. That and "a guy named Billy who use to follow the dead with Arnie". To be correct its about a guy who used to FARM the dead, as in rob graves. Not like that shit really matters or takes away from the integrity of the review, its just sort of useless conjecture and doesn't add anything to the review. Other than that, good review. Over the falls is on my top 3 list of Primus songs (next to "Wounded Knee" and "The Ole Diamond Back Sturgeon".)

How is 'Wounded knee' one of your faves? Its doesnt even qualify as a proper song

Its really fucking good. How does it not qualify as a proper song? I don't know, I guess i like the melody of the xylophone things and the double tracked drums...it sounds like cruising down a river in a boat in some magical jungle. It has a good ambient feel to it.

sounds like it was made on garageband, bud

Wounded Knee is great, I love those little instrumentals the group throws in on their albums. These are often criminally ignored.
Garageband? idk what gives something a distinct Garageband quality, like any audio tool its not about the limitations of the program but the creative ways you can overcome them as i've heard plenty of great sounding tracks mastered in non-professional freeware (and for that matter shocking production coming out of tracks mastered in $700+ audio production suites). Somebody mentioned a flaw on another album review I was reading the other day as "made in FL Studio", this is trippin' dawg.
Haven't heard this album for a while, I do remember it took a long time to grow on me but when I did I quite enjoyed. It has at least a couple of my favourite Primus songs on it.

I mightt do a primus discography review thing later

How many Pearl Jam albums have you got left to do?
I would probably do discography reviews but I would get so sick of trying to keep things sounding fresh describing the band and their history and their sound and all that jazz.

Brown Album got me into Primus.
I like the "Arnie" story too, when I heard the final track I was shocked by the end of the story.
And the speech on the first track is genious, really fantastic creative work.

Ok 3 years late but, I don't understand how this album gets such a bad review. Everything from Primus is original and should be taken alone. You all spend too much time comparing it to other Primus albums (frizzle fry), which besides the fact that they often feature different drummers, often reflect a different time in their musicianship. Brown album is classic, just like every other primus album, probably animals should not try to act like people, excepted.

Tied with Pork Soda as my favorite Primus album, the bass lines and guitar riffs are so groovy on this album. Duchess is amazing live. Puddin Taine, Golden Boy, and Bob's Party Time Lounge are underrated as hell. This album has the best production of any of Primus's albums the sound quality is amazing. Return of Sathington Wiloughby is tied with Professer Nutbutter for best intro on any Primus album. If you're a Primus fan this is a must buy. I urge non Primus fans to at least give it a listen.

I don't know why this has the lowest average rating of all the Primus albums. While it's no Frizzle Fry or Seas of Cheese, it's pretty damn underrated nonetheless.
